Christmas is approaching so to help you get into the Christmas spirit, here is a lovely song for you!!

Action:90/100
Adventure:100/100
Humour:20/100
Magic:100/100
Secrets/Mysteries:100/100
BMF Rating:100/100

This book (second in a series of four) is one of the best books I have ever read. The last book, Eragon, ended with a very large battle, just like this one. But this one was jam packed with more magic, fighting and mysteries unfolded than before.
Eragon must travel to Elssmera, the capital of the elves, to learn more about magic where he meets a second rider named Oromis. He is Eragon's teacher throughout the book. But when Lady Nasuada, queen of the Varden, is a victim of attempted murder, Eragon must return to Surda where he confronts the Empire and also finds the truth about his parents and that he had a long lost brother.

Northern Lights by Philip Pullman

Action:95/100
Adventure:100/100
Humour:50/100
Magic:100/100
Secrets/Mysteries:80/100
BMF rating:100/100

Northern Lights by Philip Pullman is the first book in the series, His Dark Materials and may also be known in its film form as the Golden Compass. It is set in another universe that is similar to our own. The story starts in Oxford at a college named Jordan were the star of our story, Lyra Belacqua, is met. She and her Deamon Pantalaimon hide under the table and see the master of the college put poison in one of her soon to be arriving relatives drink's. Lyra's father, who she believes is her uncle, Lord Asriel arrives at the college to show the scholars of the college what he has found while on his trip to the north (in our world the north pole).
Lyra, who is hiding in a cupboard in the room Lord Asriel is doing his presentation in, saw the master of the college put poison in her "uncle's" drink and just before the scholars arrive, she warns Lord Asriel of what had been done. Lord Asriel blames a servant for knocking over the drink when he did it himself. After the presentation had finished Lyra spoke to her father and he said he had been given money to go back to the north for more exploration. The next day Mrs.Coulter, Lyra's mother although she doesn't know, arrives and Lyra goes from mystery to mystery as she tries to uncover the truth about her mother and father.
This is an excellent book and I would not only buy this book but the whole series too.

The Invention of Hugo Cabret

Action:85/100
Adventure:90/100
Humour:10/100
Magic:95/100
Animals:5/100
Secrets/Mysteries:100/100
BMF Rating:95/100

"The Invention of Hugo Cabret, the greatest picture book on earth!"
I absolutely loved this book when we were reading it in class. The pictures and the whole story are fantastic and it is hard to fault Brian Selznick on this book. With Hugo going from mystery to mystery you cannot help but feel drawn in to this amazing story. The pictures are so detailed and focuses on one part of the spectacular image. Although it is hard to fault, I may have one as the book lacks humour and we all like a laugh. Having said that though, this is still the best picture book on the planet.

Nonstop dancing to pumped up kicks(remix)!

THAT IS AMAZING!!!!!
You can find other dances on youtube but i'll probably post some more on this blog.

Alex Rider Eagle Strike

Action:95/100
Adventure:100/100
Humour:60/100
Animals:30/100
Magic:5/100
BMF Rating:90/100

I love the Alex Rider series and this is a great one. It starts in France on a beach where Alex and his friend Sabina are on the sand when Alex spots a boat that looks familiar. It's Yassan Gregorovich ( If you have read the previous books you will know who he is)! That night Alex finds Yassan's boss' phone number and he finds out it is Damian Cray, a pop star. After Sabina's house had been blown up, and by the way all her family including herself survived, Alex headed back to MI6 headquarters were he explained what happened but they did not believe him. After MI6 refused to help him Alex decided he would do everything on his own. This book is great so I seriously recommend that you buy this book to find out what happens next!

Yeasayer

This is a great song by Yeasayer, a band I saw at Latitude:

Latitude

Recently I went to Latitude; a cool festival in Suffolk that stages music, theatre and comedy. I stayed in a camper van that was great and, despite the mud and horrible toilets, I had a fantastic time.
A lot of great bands played there including Laura Marling, Yeaysayer, Elbow, Lana Del Rey and many more. Here is a video of a band called Buena Vista Social Club who are a band from Cuba:
Wasn't that great? I also have a picture of Elbow playing on the main stage, the Obelisk arena.
There are five music arenas called: Obelisk arena, Word arena; i arena;lake stage and the in the woods.
My personal favourite is the i arena because, like the in the woods arena, is in the woods and under cover. I also saw my first gig there three years ago. There was also a really great bubble shop where I bought a giant bubble maker and did this:
Basically, if you ever get the chance to go to Latitude you must go 'cause it is amazing.
